Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions: release date, trailers, gameplay, and more

Harry Potter characters fly on brooms in Quidditch.
WB Games

For as fun as Hogwarts Legacy was, there was one major feature of the wizarding world that was noticeably absent from the game. Despite featuring the ability to fly on broomsticks, and even soar through a Quidditch arena, you couldn’t actually play this magical game. That’s where Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, a new game, comes in. Very little has been shared about the game since its announcement; however, there are a few details worth going over before mounting up and trying to catch that elusive Golden Snitch. Here’s everything we know about Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.

Trailers

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions - Official Reveal Trailer

The official reveal trailer only shows CGI footage of new and returning characters from the Harry Potter franchise engaging in the fictional sport. We do see a variety of fields that suggest multiple locations to play, but not much else can be gleaned from this footage.

You will be able to play as characters pulled straight from the books, including Harry, Malfoy, Ron, and more, alongside a robust character creator.

Gameplay

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions - Official Trailer - "Welcome Students!"

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will be primarily a competitive multiplayer experience that follows the rules of the game as they were written in the books, although there is also a single-player Career Mode. This mode will let you play matches across a variety of arenas to try to win the cup.

Gameplay will have you flying in a third-person view while attempting to score points by throwing the ball through one of three rings. Seekers, on the other hand, will need to chase down the Snitch as it leaves golden rings across the field.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: release date window, trailers, gameplay, and more
Profile shot of Samus in the first Metroid Prime 4 Beyond trailer.

One of Nintendo's lesser-known yet still beloved franchises is Metroid -- a series that originally began on the NES, putting us in the shoes of bounty hunter Samus Aran. Now, over 35 years later, fans are eagerly awaiting the next entry in the series, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which has been in the works for several years.

The Prime series takes the formula introduced in the 2D games and turns it into a 3D, first-person adventure that still very much feels like Metroid, despite the perspective shift. Hype for the next installment in the series has found new life now that the original Metroid Prime is available to play on the Nintendo Switch. While there isn't much we know about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, there are some small tidbits of information around the internet here and there. It's possible that Metroid Prime 4 could be one of the headline titles for the Nintendo Switch 2. We've scoured as much as we could find to bring you everything we know about Metroid Prime 4.

Newest Harry Potter game looks like EA Sports but for Quidditch
Ron Weasley (or another redhead that looks like Ron) flying on his broom in front of a goal with his arms raised.

The next Harry Potter game is shaping up to be just like any EA Sports title. A new gameplay trailer for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions gave us a small peek at its single-player and multiplayer modes, which will take you to the Quidditch World Cup.

The game first off has a career mode that is similar to single-player modes you'd find in EA Sports games, where you take your character to different arenas before eventually getting to the Quidditch World Cup. It's unclear if any of it is as in-depth as, say, EA Sports College Football 25, but there is a character creator where you can make your own player or choose from series figures like Ron Weasley, Harry, and Draco Malfoy.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl: release date, trailers, gameplay
Key art for Stalker 2.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the next hotly anticipated entry in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. The game is releasing over 13 years after the last entry in the series, and it's making its debut on consoles as an Xbox Series X exclusive.

Developer GSC Game World was forced to delay this title after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began and uprooted the team members' lives. Despite the hardships and tragedy every member of the team no doubt suffered, and all the sacrifices they made, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was not abandoned and the team pushed on to continue developing the game.
