Cooperation is key to making any progress in Once Human. Once you jump into a server and join the same world as your friends, one of the first orders of business will be to establish a base of operations. The best survival games all give you tons of customization and building options, and Once Human is no exception. However, you can only build within the limits of your own territory and, by default, no one else can build on your space either. While you could each just build your bases next to one another, it's much more fun to collaborate and help build one communal base. Here's how you can share a base with friends in Once Human.

How to share a base in Once Human

Before you even begin, you need to make sure you're playing on the same server and world as your friends. You can't change servers, but you can change worlds within that server to find wherever your friends have ended up.

Step 1: Once you're all in the same place, make sure you are all on each other's friends list by looking at them, selecting Z > Add Friend.

Step 2: Now that you're friends, open your menu and go into the *Friends *tab.

Step 3: Select Friend Permissions.

Step 4: Toggle the Access to Facilities, Building, and *Storage options to Enable.

While there are drawbacks to only having a digital library, being able to easily input a code into your console and download a game is no doubt convenient. Well, it would be if it weren't so difficult to actually find the right menu to type in that code. There are a lot of quirks to the PS5's interface, but the code redemption screen is particularly tricky to find. If you've got a fresh game code you desperately want to redeem, we'll help you out.

How to redeem codes on Steam
Custom art in a Steam library.

Steam, and PC gaming in general, has become almost exclusively digital. Even if you can find a boxed copy of a PC game today, you're almost guaranteed to open it up and just find a code inside. That Steam code only needs to be entered once to give you access to the game, whether it comes from a boxed copy or more likely an online seller. If you're used to simply purchasing games with your Steam wallet funds or attached credit card to add it to your library directly, you may have no idea how to redeem a product on Steam. Not to worry — the process is as simple as can be.

How to redeem codes on Xbox Series X
A list of indie games on Xbox appears in a grid.

Whether you have a code for a full game, a Game Pass subscription, or a gift card to add funds to your wallet to purchase a game digitally, the only thing standing between you and whatever that code unlocks is the Xbox Series X/S UI. Xbox hasn't changed it's UI a ton since the Xbox One days, but it can still be a bit cumbersome to work through, especially if you don't redeem codes very often. While the option is a little out of the way, you can access it in just a few seconds once you know where to look.
